When did Islam start: When Adam set foot on Earth. He was the first Muslim. After him, all Prophets/Messengers of God (Allah) were Muslim, because they brought the same message of submission to one God, Allah. Even Jesus brought the same message.

What is the opinion of Islam on Jesus?: That he too, like Prophet Moses, Abraham, Joshua, Solomon, David, Muhammad etc, was a Prophet/Messenger of God bringing the same message of submission to one God. He too, like all the other messengers before him, was human.

Where does Islam get all these concepts regarding God, Jesus etc from?: The Holy Quran, which Muslims believe is entirely word to word the word of God (Allah). And the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

What if Islam and Muslims are wrong?: Its possible. The only good answer a Muslim can give to this question is 'Please read the Quran yourself with an unbiased neutral mindset, and then decide for yourself.'

Is there any need to look into religion anyways in today's world?: Yes there is, because logic says that this entire world, the universes, galaxies, stars etc, with all their intricacies and complexities, their strict adherance to predefined laws, cannot all be the result of chance. If someone told us a certain Mercedes Benz just came out of thin air, no one made it, we'll think that person to be crazy. So then how can we so easily believe that this whole universe, ourselves included, are a result of mere chance? The answer is that we cannot. There has to be a Creator. Logic says so. And that Creator cant possibly be taking a vacation ever since He created all this, no. He is actively involved with everything that takes places in and around us. So... we need to connect with Him. We need to find Him. What are all these various religions around us? One of them has to be right. :) So get up and research. Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, theres a whole host of religions around us. Dont take any one of them and accept it blindly. No, research properly, keep your ears, eyes and mind open, and accept whichever touches your heart in the end. Be logical and sensible, dont just close this door so quickly. :)

Jabir Ibn Haiyan (Geber) - Father of Chemistry (Died 803)

Al-Khawarizmi - Inventor of Algorithm, Algebra, Calculus (770-840)

Ibn Ishaq Al-Kindi (Alkindus) - Made the first contributions ever to the fields of Philosophy, Physics, Optics, Medicine, Mathematics, Metallurgy (800-873)

Abu Abdullah Al-Battani (Albategnius) - Astronomy, Mathematics, Trigonometry. Discovered that the solar year was 365 days, 5 hours, 46 minutes and 24 seconds long. Determined accurately the obliquity of the ecliptic, the length of seasons and the true and mean orbit of the sun. Introduced the use of 'sines' and 'cotangents' in mathematics (858-929)

Abu Ali Hasan Ibn Al-Haitham (Alhazen) - Father of modern Optics. Discovered the laws of refraction, the first to accurately describe the parts of the eye and give a scientific explanation for the process of vision. Invented the camera. Theories of attraction between masses and acceleration due to gravity. Remember Newton's first law of motion? Well, it wasnt Newton, it was Al-Haitham who discovered it (965-1040)

Ibn-Sina (Avisenna) - Father of Medicine. Wrote the 2 legendary books Kitab Al Shifa (Book of Healing) and Al Qanun Al Tibb (which became the medical guide of the entire West from the 12th to the 17th century!). His books (around 99 in number) contain detailed anatomy of the human body, various medicines, especially cardiac drugs, details on diseases, many discovered by himself. In the words of Dr William Osler, the Qanun has remained 'a medical bible for a longer time than any other work' (981-1037)
